Epoxy flooring & resurfacing comprises of flooring systems that enhance & protect concrete surfaces including: seamless epoxy flake flooring, high impact & chemical resistant resinous epoxy floor coatings and decorative concrete resurfacing. Epoxy flooring is basically a plastic-like material that comes from combining 2-part resins and hardeners together. This causes a chemical reaction that forms a durable continuous film coating that hardens & cures in varying gloss levels. The hardening occurs through polymer chains that cross-link together. Epoxy floors are resistant to chemicals, oils, traffic & are very durable when installed correctly. Generally speaking epoxy coatings & flooring systems are installed to give protection from harsh chemicals, solvents, acids and alkalis that would otherwise deteriorate the bare concrete surface. Resurfacing & overlays in more depth-  Sometimes referred to as covercrete, stencil-crete or spraycrete, concrete resurfacing is generally a decorative spray-on system consisting of a acrylic-polymer binder mixed with cement powder & sand aggregates. This product adheres to the prepared concrete surface & offers great resistance to foot & vehicle traffic while offering a pleasing aesthetic finish. 

The process: After comprehensive grinding preparation to the concrete sub-floor, The resurfacing compound is mixed on site & 2-4 coats are spray applied. The system can entail a simple, single coloured finish or can be far more elaborate through the use of stencils, tapes, multi-colour flecks and various finishing techniques. After drying, x2 coats of clear sealer are applied to provide protection from dirt, stains & degradation. The preparation/ installation & composition of resurfacing compounds makes for a system that is tough, versatile, customizable & hard-wearing. Resurfacing is suitable for a range of commercial and residential applications– from driveways to pool surrounds, patio areas and other high traffic external applications.
